Is that too big of a promise? Haha! I stand by it.
This framework came to me while I was in the shower. I almost sprained my ankle to map it out for you all, so…you know it’s going to be great!
So what is this great life framework anyway?
It’s a simplicity filter!
I created the simplicity filter framework to help you clarify how to approach decision making in your life. It’s a handy 2×2 table that’s an extension of the Eisenhower matrix.
Work-life balance (or as I prefer to call it, work-life GREATNESS) is too often the goal. But I think of it more as a BYPRODUCT of how you make four key decisions regarding your time expenditure.
Where in your life is it easy to say no?
Where is it difficult for you to say no?
Where in your life is it easy to say yes?
Where is it difficult for you to say yes?
We all have the same number of hours in the day to allocate. Of course, I fully acknowledge that your circumstances will differ from everyone else’s based on your responsibilities at home, the presence of dependents, your personal health, your specialty etc.
Sleep, work, childcare get the bulk of the day.
The details will differ from person to person. What you put in each of the simplicity filter quadrants will differ. How many things you place in each of the quadrants will differ. But how you APPROACH each of the quadrants is roughly the same for everyone.
Over the next few weeks I’ll go into more detail, but for now:
Question: “where in your life is it easy to say no?
