What does your life look like when things are going well? More often than not, you are doing things on your “easy-yes” list.
Are you getting consistent good quality sleep?
Laughing and playing with your kids?
Meditating?
Exercising?
Journalling about your day?
Having coffee conversations with your father?
Doing creative work?
Going for a walk by the river with your spouse?
Tending to your peony garden?
(P.S. this is what “the easy-yes” looks like in reality for me!)
But if I asked you whether you spend your time aligned with your “easy-yes,” what do you notice? If you feel aimless, unfulfilled, or burnt out, it’s likely you are devoting too much energy to the “easy-no” and “difficult-no” quadrants of your life. At most, maybe you will squeeze in a few things you enjoy, but at what cost?
The “easy-yes” is what PERSONAL SUCCESS means to you.
When you strip away the ego, the titles, the expectations, what you truly value is what you put in this quadrant. This is what will really matter at the end of your life.
So it deserves your care and attention.
Next week I will write about how to protect the areas in your life that bring you joy and meaning.
Question: “Can you commit to putting one thing on your easy-yes list in your calendar this week?”
