My husband told me that I am very negative.
Naturally, I didn’t believe him.
But I decided to write down all of my negative thoughts in a notebook just to show him, “ha! I’m not critical! I’m just honest…”
Well, well…
The first day I counted 38 negative thoughts.
Some were quite nasty.
Many were not really fair to other people.
Okay, I cringe when I read it now.
But here’s the thing about journalling–what you write down gets your attention. You start to see the part that you play in this dance of burnout.
Or, you know–maybe people really are just jerks!
Yes. I’ll jot that down in my negativity journal tonight.
Goodnight.
Question: “Can you think of an area you would like to focus your attention? Try to write down all of your unedited thoughts in a slim journal. Then come back to it and assess how you really feel.”
